A plantation drive was undertaken at Delhi Public School Durg campus on 13th and 14th August, 2018 as a part of Haryali Mahotsav.
The Principal- Mr. Anupal Sagar, Head Master – Mr. K. S. Bisht, Head Mistress – Ms. Anjana Jha, Senior Master – Mr. R. C. Dwivedi and the Gardening Club headed by Ms. Moushumi Mukherjee, Ms. Neha Sharma, Ms. Sini Jojen and other teachers and students actively participated in this campaign. Around 60 saplings of 12 different varieties were planted by the Principal, teachers and students of the school. Some of the plants are Gulmohar (Flame tree), Ashoka Tree, Sitafal (Custard appple), Mango, Apple ber (Indian plum), Gudhal (Hibiscus), Mogra (Jasmine) etc. These plants are being maintained by the Gardening Club of the school under the guidance of their teacher incharges. The students were told about the importance of trees in our lives. They were motivated to keep planting trees in other places like their homes or in gardens, wherever there is a scope in future also.
