14thOPEN DAY CELEBRATION OF THE PRIMARY WING

The 14th Open Day Celebrations of the Primary Wing of Delhi Public School, Durg was conducted in the Multi-Purpose Hall of the school on 21st February,2017 with great exuberance, ebullience and jubilation. The Chief Guest for the function was Dr. Anurag Verma, Director CSIT, Durg. The glittering programme based on the theme “Chhoona Hain Aasmaan – The Sky is the Limit” got a ceremonial start with Ganesh Vandana and the Lighting of the Lamp by the Chief Guest. Thereafter the Principal, Mr. Jaya Prakash extended a cordial welcome to the Chief Guest and the gathering. Next, the Chief Guest gave away prizes to the meritorious students for their excellent academic performances. Thereafter, the Cultural Programme commenced with a “Welcome Song” followed by Introduction of the theme. Next was the Action song – Rise up to the Sky depicting the dreams and aspirations of the young minds. Next in line was Krishna Baal Leela and then a foot tapping Western Dance – giving the message to keep up the spirits high.

The audience thoroughly enjoyed the “Jumbo Circus” which depicted different shades of life and highlighted the need to remain positive even in the most difficult times. Then, an English Play “Snow White and the Seven Birds”, followed by energetic and scintillating folk dance – Gidda, which left the audience spellbound.

The cultural programme came to an end with a heart-touching, inspiring, patriotic street play – “A Tribute to Our Soldiers” followed by the theme song “Chhoona Hain Aasmaan”. The Annual Report of the Primary Wing for the session 2015 – 2016 was presented by the Head Mistress Primary Wing, Mrs. Amita Mukherjee. The Chief Guest, in his address, praised the efforts of children and teachers for putting up a great programme. He complimented the school leadership for taking the school to newer heights constantly. He also emphasized that the children and parents should pay more stress on concept-based learning rather than securing high marks.
The celebration culminated with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Head Mistress, Pre-Primary Wing, Ms. Anjana Jha followed by the National Anthem. The programme was anchored ably by Vedant Jain, Aashika Sinha, Pramukh Gupta, Izba Siddiqui, Naman Kevaltani, Karan Chopra, Samriddhi Sinha and Nishit Jha.
